Today in 1867 Alfred Nobel patented dynamite. He was a Swedish chemist, engineer, innovator, and armaments manufacturer.He was condemned by a French newspaper for his invention of dynamite and this is said to have brought about his decision to leave a better legacy after his death. He left money is his will to set up the Nobel Prizes. Explosive stuff.
